The mayor Carlos Peñafiel will defend this initiative whose objective is the promotion of political activity from a body that takes into account the proposals and strategies of civil society and the sectors involved in tourism
The councilman of the orange formation Carlos Peñafiel is in favor to take advantage of the tourist boom that has registered the municipality of Murcia during the last years, according to official data published in the portal Costa Cálida of the Region of Murcia
"A growth that," according to Peñafiel, "should be taken into account as a great opportunity to make our city known to the hundreds of thousands of tourists who visit us every year and enjoy it."
In this sense, the mayor of Cs considers essential the creation of a Sectoral Tourism Board that is responsible for generating strategies from studies on the characteristics and profile of tourists visiting Murcia.
"This type of actions would help us to promote public policies focused on taking advantage of and maintaining this tourist boom in our municipality."
In addition, Peñafiel has stressed the need for the Council is composed of representatives of civil society and all sectors involved in tourism to provide their point of view and these are taken into account.
