The Association of Women Scientists of the Region of Murcia (LYCEUM), after a year of experience, will deliver for the first time their annual awards on June 25 (Monday) at 20.15, in the IES Licensed Francisco Cascales (ride Teniente Flomesta ) in an act entitled "A Midsummer Night's Lyceum".
The session includes two current lectures on equal opportunities topics:
Isabel González Pacanowska (Professor of Civil Law, UMU), will speak on "Challenges of equality in Civil Law".
Isabel Franco Sánchez (Equality Observatory Director OMEP), will speak on "Equal Opportunities Observatory".
Concepción Sánchez-Pedreño, professor for decades at the University of Murcia, will receive the First Prize Piedad de la Cierva to the scientific woman of Murcia (Gabarda morada) for her extraordinary scientific career and for having been a pioneer, teacher and guidance for many generations of scientists in this region.
Likewise, distinctions will be presented to various people who have stood out for their help to Lyceum during this year of operation: Alicia Barquero, Antonio González Valverde, Mª Carmen López Aniorte, Juan Antonio Megías, Rosa Peñalver, Juan Segado, Enrique Ujaldón and Juan Mª Vázquez.
At the end, a cocktail dinner will be served in the cloister of the Licenciado Cascales Institute, enlivened with music (Ana Montes and Carlos García Briñol).
'Lyceum de Ciencia de Murcia' is an open platform to enhance the professional career of women in all areas.
