In the industrial estate of San Ginés, lighting will be renewed, replacing 377 luminaires with LED technology that will save 65%, six new LED spots will be installed in the Gregorio Ordoñez sports center in Santiago el Mayor and will be to improve the illumination of the facade of the Almudí Palace.
The Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, directed by Rebeca Pérez, is still working to improve the lighting of the municipality of Murcia and therefore this week is working on works of different depth in the industrial estate of San Ginés, Santiago el Mayor and in the urban area, renewing the illumination of the Almudí Palace.
This week is working in the Industrial West, replacing 377 sodium vapor lamps with LED technology, replacing and fixing the columns that are in poor condition.
Likewise, 13 points of the polygon's garden area, 23 metal poles and five remote control centers will be replaced, and different channels and manholes will be repaired.
This eliminates the current installation that is around forty years old, so it has a very low light output and produces, by its configuration, great light pollution and high energy consumption.
In addition some staffs are very deteriorated.
The total power after the renovation will be 38 kW, while current is 105 kW.
These works will save 51,000 euros per year, which means a reduction of 65%.
In addition, the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere is reduced by 141 tons, from 221 to 80 tons.
The works will be carried out by Ferrovial Servicios with a budget of 127,772 euros and an execution period of four months.
In this way, it is also providing lighting to the Gregorio Ordoñez sports hall in Santiago el Mayor, where six new state-of-the-art LED spots will be installed, with 98 W of power over 9-meter-high metal columns with overhead lines. .
The total consumption is 594 W and the budget is 15,500 euros.
The contractor is Lumen Eléctricas.
The Palacio del Almudí improves its lighting, being similar to the one existing in the building annexed to the Town Hall.
It is installing a programmable dynamic lighting, in color, that allows to perform lighting games on the facade.
To this end, linear projectors with RGB LED technology of 11, 22 and 33 W are being installed;
a floodlight projector with RGBW LED, 43 W above the existing street lighting column, and a projector to accent details of 56 W, warm white.
The total power is 1,232 W.
The work is being done by the Electromur company with an investment of 44,897 euros and they have a term of four months.
Other improvements in lighting
These works are in addition to those of San Pio X, Aljucer, Corvera, Los Dolores and Guadalupe, which have already improved the lighting in some of its streets.
In Pio X, specifically in the Castle Garden of Olite and the Canine Garden of San Pio, the existing public lighting installations have been reinforced and improved, since they are more than 30 years old and have low lighting performance.
The proposal consists in the installation of decorative luminaires of last generation LED technology, of 35, 39 and 75 W. of power on the existing garden columns.
The points that have been renewed are 138, achieving a total power of 5,888 W, compared to the previous 14,135 W.
This improvement means reducing energy consumption to 59%.
The budget is € 59,500 and once the contracting process has been completed, the company Electromur, SA has been awarded by an amount of 39,632 euros.
In the Paseo Doctor Gil de Aljucer has also renewed the current installation, changing the existing luminaires that produce glare and light pollution by other decorative type with LED technology 48.5 W.
A total of 26 new light points have been installed, replacing the current columns (very degraded in their base) by glass fiber reinforced polyester columns, immune to corrosion by moisture, 4 meters high.
The power has gone from 2,860 W to 1,261 W, so there is a reduction in electricity consumption of 6,800 kWh per year, equivalent to 56%.
This supposes an economic saving of 1,100 annual euros and a reduction in the emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere of 3,4 tons every year.
The budget is 32,800 euros and once the contracting process has been completed, the company Elecnor, SA has been awarded by an amount of 23,445 euros.
