June 21, 2018 The Councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, Antonio Navarro, has replied to the PSOE and Citizens that "in the drafting of the Special Plan for the Protection of the Malecon, proposals from neighbors have been collected through a participatory process and the measures that are proposed will have, as always, the social consensus that this plan needs ".
He adds that "it is surprising that Ayuso expresses doubts because he attended the meeting held yesterday and, if he was attentive, he could verify that we work, as always, on the side of Murcia."
"We care about the neighbors and we care about the protection of the Malecón promenade, for that reason we have been working for months on measures that reconcile the protection and conservation of the BIC with the well-being of the neighbors," Navarro assured.
"The Malecón is a monument classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest and our obligation is to work so that it is in good condition, which is why this Special Plan was born, which has all the pertinent technical studies and necessary to take care of it with an integral action", continues the Popular councilor.
The process of preparing the Special Plan has been carried out from the start with the participation and dialogue with the neighbors, with whom meetings have been convened and held on different occasions.
The last one happened yesterday.
This plan contemplates the creation of a bike lane next to the promenade, the protection of existing trees, as well as the recovery of garden areas in unbuilt plots and the improvement of municipal nurseries, among many other activities.
"We are not going to do any action outside the neighbors, so we want to know their ideas and proposals that will help improve the plan," Navarro concludes.
