The Socialist Group wants the neighbors to be taken into account before the actions that tend to improve the "deficient state" in which the surroundings of Paseo del Malecón are located, where the elimination of the crossing of the Cuatro Piedras is carried out. rejected in La Arboleja and La Albatalía and in which the conditioning of the parking deterrent is urgent
The PSOE councilor Enrique Ayuso and the pedáneo mayor of La Arboleja, also socialist Jose Perez, held a meeting with technicians of the Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Huerta to analyze the reports and the request for modifications of the Special Plan for the Protection of Pier.
The purpose of the meeting was to prepare the allegations to be presented before the plan is presented for public exposure.
"For some time now, it has been necessary to improve the state of the Malecon promenade, a space that is quite abandoned and with deficiencies and that we must protect even more", points out the socialist mayor.
The lack of lighting in a busy area, the broken and loose slabs, the installation of the vendors' stalls in an area that is not the most suitable - something that they criticize themselves - and the terrible situation in which the car park is located deterrent with sinkholes and accumulated amount of garbage are some of the aspects that can be seen with the naked eye with simply access to this area of the city.
"With regard to the special plan itself, we see positive that they want to recover the garden areas in the unbuilt plots and improve the public plots, for example the municipal nurseries, but the main problem is the proposal to cut traffic in the crossing of the Four Stones, as it is proposed, that should not be carried out hastily, "says Ayuso.
In that sense from the PSOE claims that there is a social consensus of the neighbors and that they have evaluated the essential traffic improvements before canceling that crossing, an action that generates rejection in neighbors of the nearest districts such as La Albatalía and La Arboleja.
On the other hand, the bike lane is projected parallel to the walk on the east side, running along the 5-meter road, so that the use of El Malecón would be exclusively for pedestrians.
Both the eucalyptus trees and the existing singular trees will be protected in one of the enclaves with the highest value in Murcia from an environmental, landscape and monumental point of view.
The scope of intervention in the environment affects an area of 200,000 square meters, of which more than half, specifically 52%, are reserved for agricultural use.
