The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation led by Conchita Ruiz, presents the campaign 'It is not no' to be held in periods of festivals, festivals and leisure environments of the municipality of Murcia.
This campaign aims to achieve parties free of sexist violence.
This proposal, which is collected in the framework of the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men 2018-2019, aims to incorporate the prevention of violence against women in the programs of festivals and festivals held in the municipality of Murcia , as well as to sensitize all citizens about the right of women to decide, and to inform about the services of attention before situations of sexist violence.
It also aims to involve all social agents in the fight against violence.
"We promote the participation of the municipal boards, civil protection, municipal police, as well as movements and social organizations of women and volunteers to carry out this campaign. 'Is not no' is an action to raise awareness about micromachismos, street harassment and leisure free of machista aggressions "commented councilor Conchita Ruiz.
The next events in which this action will take place is the Romería de la Fuensanta, the Feria de Septiembre and the Christmas parties, among others.
Among the measures that will be carried out include the volunteer staff enrolled in the municipal offices of volunteers of the three Municipal Social Services Centers, give participation to social volunteering in this campaign, being fundamental young people from each of the 52 districts of the municipality and inform the Neighborhood Boards of the districts.
Violet points
Volunteer participation will be carried out through the identification of information spaces called 'Violet Points', marked with a banner that displays the motto of the campaign and which will be located in the same spaces where civil protection, local police and / or or in the spaces where the festive activities are carried out.
The 'Violet Points' will be attended by the volunteer staff (civil protection and social volunteer) who have previously received the necessary basic training and planned within this campaign, will be duly identified with a bracelet, and will provide the information (including the distribution of brochures and cards), guidance and accompaniment as necessary.
