The Department of Infrastructure, Works and Services, directed by Rebeca Pérez, at the proposal of the Federation of Deaf People of the Region of Murcia, will illuminate tomorrow the facade of the building next to the Turquoise City Hall on the occasion of the National Day of Languages of Signs
What is intended with this gesture is to contribute to bringing Spanish sign languages closer to the whole society, in addition to establishing values of tolerance towards diversity.
The National Day of Spanish Sign Languages was adopted in 2014 in the Council of Ministers, and since then it is celebrated every June 14 because that same day of 1936 the State Confederation of Deaf People (CNSE) was created, an entity that together with its The associative network has made it possible for these languages, the Castilian and Catalonian sign languages, to be valued in society.
