The Department of Social Rights this summer, from July 2 to July 27, a total of 53 schools, 25 of them also offer school meals, and 3 camps.
Aid is also available to families without resources whose children do not have access to one of these schools with a cafeteria near the house, a total of 1,913 minors will benefit.
The La Caixa Foundation will carry out 22 schools adding a total, along with Social Rights, to 75 schools.
The budget for activities, both camps and schools, has amounted to 455,000 euros
The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation led by Conchita Ruiz, launches different summer schools, from July 2 to 27, in which 2,608 children will participate, some of them proposed by the Municipal centers of Social Rights, under the motto of this year is 'Healthy life full'.
In addition there are a total of 135 places for summer camps.
There will be a total of 53 summer schools for minors, between 6 and 17 years old, of which 37 are aimed at children between 6 and 12 years and 16 at adolescents between 13 and 17 years.
All of them will have a schedule from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will take place in school, cultural or conciliation centers, as well as in municipal centers of neighborhoods and districts.
"The theme of this year is committed to healthy living, it is about finding a balance between the diet, physical and intellectual activity, leisure, hygiene and the emotional part" commented Conchita Ruiz.
The activities are organized by the Area of ​​childhood and adolescence, in which 1,913 children will participate and by the Caixa Proinfancia program, in agreement with the La Caixa Foundation, which will make a total of 22 schools in which 695 children will participate.
Cáritas, Columbares, Secretariado Gitano, Cepaim, Copedeco and the Barrios Coordinator will participate in these schools.
The illustration of the diptych has been chosen through a contest among the children participating in the projects of activities with children and adolescents (PAI).
The author of the same has been María José Ayala, of Zarandona.
Summer schools with dining
There will be 25 summer schools with dining room, of which 4 are made by Columbares Association, 7 Cáritas and 14 by the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, benefiting 1,013 children.
The budget allocated by the Department for dining in summer schools, amounts to approximately 61,000 euros.
In addition, aid will be allocated to families that are proposed in the municipal centers, in the case that they do not have access to a summer school with a cafeteria close to their home.
900 minors will benefit from these grants that are assigned to families, with a budget of 198,000 euros.
The approximate total municipal budget for this measure to combat child poverty amounts to 251,000 euros.
Summer camps
Other activities that the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation carried out this summer, are three summer camps of one week each.
In total there are available 135 places for minors, between 6 and 16 years, distributed in the month of July and the first half of August.
The approximate budget of 31,000 euros.
The budget for activities, both camps and schools, has amounted to 455,000 euros.
