He wants to be incorporated into the municipal boards as actors in this process
The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, has presented a set of allegations to draft the draft Universal Accessibility Plan submitted by the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, to include cross-sectional Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations (UN) with regard to accessibility.
In particular, the mayor has referred to the SDGs related to education, employment, the reduction of inequalities, the inclusiveness of cities, the accessibility of transport and the monitoring of the 2030 Agenda, which outlines the objectives of the community international in the 2016-2030 period to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable and egalitarian development.
"It is essential to incorporate the perspective of the SDGs in the municipal plans that are being developed at this time, as in this case the Universal Accessibility, as they will have an impact in the coming years, in which the challenge is raised from all areas for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, "said Guerrero.
Likewise, the councilor has insisted on the need for the Plan to incorporate a calendar of actions, both annual and multi-year, as well as a sufficient budget for its execution and indicators that allow a "realistic evaluation" to be carried out subsequently.
Regarding the particular considerations, he has proposed to elaborate a diagnosis and a list of points in which the main problems are listed to give them priority, such as bus stops that do not include the mandatory measures and thus present "a serious danger" for people with reduced mobility.
The municipal training has also requested that the City Council involve the municipal boards of the objectives of this Plan, since they manage "an important part of public resources" and are the closest organism in relation to the daily problems of citizens.
Concrete measures
The arguments of Cambiemos Murcia also include a battery with specific and urgent measures to improve the Plan, such as the integration of social clauses in public procurement to advance real inclusion of this group in the workplace.
For example, the commitment of the government team so that 10 percent of the places it convened in any public job is reserved for people with disabilities, including temporary contracts and substitutions.
It has also raised the need to require companies that provide services to the City, or have public subsidy, that 10 percent of their jobs are for people with disabilities, and the implementation of awareness programs to civil servants , political representatives and citizens in general.
