The Municipal Socialist Group, with the request made to the City of Murcia, has managed to open the public swimming pools to the public two weeks before - they will do next Saturday and not on July 1 as until last year - and also that children of unemployed between 14 and 17 years old can access these facilities free of charge without having to be accompanied by their parents.
Children under that age should go with an adult company to benefit from the discount.
The PSOE Councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa claimed in writing that all the pools managed by the City Council, including the 11 districts - Aljucer, Alquerías, Corvera, El Palmar, El Raal, Espinardo, The Ñora, Bacons Bridge, Rincon de Seca, Sangonera La Verde, Sangonera La Seca-, will offer their services to users from June 1, as it happens with Murcia Parque, located next to the Paseo del Malecón, and the Consistory partially attended to this request in advance the opening of the pedestrian pools at day 16
This request made to the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, attends, according to Larrosa, to the need to "not discriminate against people who reside in the districts with respect to those who do it in the city."
In addition, the PSOE demanded that more and more accurate information be offered to the users of these public facilities so demanded during the summer.
Last year was introduced as a novelty labonificación in the entry for people in unemployment situation with a 50% discount and free for their children, a measure that was adopted at the proposal of the Municipal Socialist Group in the Fiscal Ordinances.
This year, in addition, it has been achieved that these children, who have already reached the age of 14 and who choose to go to the pool with their friends, can have free access to the facility without the need to be accompanied by their parents.
This is the case after a change has been made to the regulations governing the public price in these facilities.
