The spokesman of the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, today called on the councilman of Cultural, Jesus Francisco Pacheco, to "fulfill its function" and convene a meeting of the public part of the Ramón Gaya Foundation to establish the position that is will defend in the next extraordinary session of this body, which will take place on Monday June 18.

Tornel has considered that the public part -composed by the president of the Foundation and mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the municipal groups- has to meet to define, with political criteria, a "common position" in relation to the central theme of the session, the modification of the bylaws, on which the private part has been pronounced, made up of five people chosen at the time by Gaya.

"Until now, there is only consensus among all the members of the Foundation regarding the need to update the statutes to make them more practical and as the start of a new museum project," the mayor pointed out.

To change Murcia, it is a priority that the public party, far from becoming a "stone guest" and go "to tow" the private, establish a position and draw conclusions regarding the proposal of the other party.

"This would be logical since the harmony between the two parties is not sustained if one of them does not contribute," said the municipal councilor.

In addition, Tornel has insisted that it is "fundamental" that the Consistory, more specifically the head of service of Museums, which is also director of the Ramón Gaya museum, meets with its technicians in order to end the "unconnected work" that defines, in his opinion, the policy of municipal museums carried out by the Government of Ballesta.

"The work of the public party can not ignore the advice of service technicians, essential not to make decisions merely rhetorical," said Tornel, who has also insisted on the need to "generate a genuine coordination between museums so that each one of them do not act like an island within the same service ".
