Dual Race: athletes and students
The key aspect of the project of the Catholic University of Murcia and the Spanish Olympic Committee is to allow athletes to maintain their pace of training and competitions without leaving higher education.
For this, the UCAM has a model that has been praised and promoted by the European Union, by which the athletes have specific tutors who will guide them in their curriculum adding more workload when the sport allows it and leaving less academic stress when big dates arrive.
The commitment of the institution and its faculty, in addition to the great effort made by athletes at the time of studying after long training sessions make this reality possible.
The eSports arrive with force
The university sport has found a new ally with the eSports (electronic sports) that have entered fully into university life.
The UCAM already has eSports athletes on scholarships just as if they were Olympic athletes, as is the case of Jaime Álvarez 'Gravesen', the Spanish FIFA champion.
In addition, through its Chair of eSports, the UCAM has already signed agreements with top-level teams such as the case of 'Mad Lions' to allow their students to do internships with them.
In addition, taking into account that this sector is already demanding more and better professionals, the Catholic University of Murcia already has in its training offer two degrees related to this world: the Module in Management and Management of eSports and the Title of University Expert in Training and eSports Team Training.
