The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Modernization and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the mayor of Pedanías, Participación y Descentralización, Marco Antonio Fernández, inaugurates this afternoon the Garden of the Avenida Constitución de Monteagudo, a new green area located in the center of the district with areas of stay for large and small.
After the inauguration, José Ballesta will hold a participatory meeting with the different neighborhood groups of Monteagudo.
This space is added to the 3,000 green areas of the municipality, which account for more than 150,000 trees in an area of ​​3.9 million square meters.
Specifically, the garden of Monteagudo has meant an investment of 54,000 euros and has had a completion period of three months.
The result is a diaphanous space for the celebration of events with new areas of stay through a line of continuous banks clad in wood at two heights, for adults and children.
New low consumption LED street lights and a new drinking fountain have been installed.
The action has included a shadow study of the existing trees so that they are projected onto the banks.
New shrub plantations have been carried out and the irrigation, lighting and sanitation network of the whole environment has been renewed, which has been fenced so that children can enjoy it safely.
