The Puertas de Castilla celebrates for the thirteenth consecutive year the arrival of summer programming the cult film The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a special screening in the auditorium of the center.
The tape of Jim Sharman was released on August 14, 1975 in the United Kingdom and a month later in the United States.
Although at the beginning it was an unmitigated failure, the film found its place in the golf sessions of the cinemas of Los Angeles and New York, where a year later the tradition of interacting with the screen began shouting at the characters, shouting some moments, inventing conversations with them, going disguised as the characters and handling objects related to the events of the film.
Since then, The Rocky Horror Picture Show has added legions of fans around the world who actively participate in the screenings and introduce new viewers, the virgins, to the ritual of attending a film screening.
The film can not be seen in any way, since it would detract much of its essence.
The 'norms' stipulate what the viewer should do when something significant happens on the screen: screaming, dancing, booing.
Do not forget four basic rules to assist in this show: "leave your nephew of six years and your grandmother of 85 at home, unless they are open mind;
those who have never attended the show are called virgins;
It is obligatory to leave your pose, your social role and your prejudices at the entrance and, if you feel weird, do not worry, there will always be someone beside you who is weirder than you ».
Directed by Jim Sharman and with Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick and Richard O'Brien in the cast, the film tells the story of a couple who take refuge in a castle due to a violent storm and a breakdown of the car.
There they will meet Dr. Frank N. Furter, a transsexual who lives dedicated to the manufacture of a creature, Rocky Horror, and who celebrates a convention where the protagonists will live all series of bizarre scenes.
Attendees will participate in key moments: throwing rice when Brad and Janet get married, simulating rain with a water gun, lighting the lighters when There is a Light sounds.
For this, attendees will receive a props bag of the show along with instructions to enjoy a transylvanian night.
The Midnight Cinema series will be completed with the screening of The Sorcerer's Night by Amando de Ossorio on Thursday, June 21 and with the film by Italian director Lucio Fulci Zombi 2, on Thursday, July 5.
