For the mayor, it is a fallacy that the UCAM tries to regularize the facilities erected in the surroundings of the Cultural Property of the Jerónimos Monastery on undeveloped land alluding to the social interest of its use when they belong to a profit-making entity.

"With this information the file opened in the General Directorate of Culture following the complaint of Cambiemos Murcia takes a turn and it seems more clear than ever the irregularity of these constructions, since it is more difficult to justify the social interest when there is a business of by means, "said Tornel.

Cambiemos Murcia defends that the protection of the environment and the architectural elements depends on the Cultural Heritage law, which is above urban planning.

"It remains to be seen that a private business that occupies protected land can receive a catalog that allows it to maintain its activity," the mayor concluded.
