The City Council has awarded the works that will be executed on the road from Avileses to Sucina in order to avoid flooding.
The works, which will begin in the coming weeks and will last for six months, consist of the creation of an overpass for the ravine to circulate under the road in such a way that it is not cut off in episodes of heavy rains.
Currently this road, which was given by the Community to the City, presents serious problems of cross drainage along its layout as there is a series of ramblas that have been modified.
This causes changes in the original runoff pattern, altering the course of surface water, the elimination of the longitudinal and transversal drainage works existing on the road and the creation of new water channelings when channeled between the new plantations.
All of the above has meant that the frequent torrential avenues suffered in the area affect the route of the road with continuous flooding and dragging of agricultural land that leaves the road out of service at many points of the route studied.
In order to improve safety on this road and avoid flooding when heavy rains occur, a factory work will be built at the intersection of the ramblas that converge at the exit of the hamlet of Avileses, with the road that connects the hamlet with the of Sucina.
In this way, it will be necessary to raise the grade of the road, which makes it necessary to build new shed pavements and sidewalks in the affected area.
Once the demolitions have been carried out and the embankment has been executed, the ditch will be excavated to place the pipes that will be made of reinforced concrete.
The work will continue with the execution of fins and rake walls, the placement of the jetty and the paving of the road and sidewalks.
The works will be carried out by Eneas Servicios Integrales SA with an investment of 70,209 euros.
