The Catholic University of Murcia today celebrated an agreement signed through the International Institute of Charity and Volunteering (IICV) Juan Pablo II with thirteen associations of the Region that work under a common premise: solidarity with the most needy.
Collectives such as drug addicts, physically and psychologically disabled, elderly people, young people, large families, immigrants, affected by rare diseases, cancer patients or children with hearing or language problems have been represented by these associations with which the UCAM strengthens its collaboration with through volunteers of the various degrees of the University.
From areas such as nursing, physiotherapy, medicine, psychology, educational therapy, communication or education, the Catholic University of Murcia will collaborate offering its students the opportunity to strengthen their training with internships in these associations.
It is a work that was already underway but now is expanded.
This support that all associations thanked the president of the University, José Luis Mendoza, also has an economic contribution in order to help the social work they do.
Next volunteer firm, in Cartagena
Today's signing will be added soon a new act in the Campus of Cartagena with more associations, with which the UCAM will collaborate directly in the field of volunteering with more than sixty groups allowing their students to strengthen their training while performing an important social work.
