This morning the Simulation of an Incident of Multiple Victims (IMV) was carried out in the UCAM, the activity has been given to the students of the Official Master of Medicine of Emergency, with the collaboration of the Emergency Management 061 of the Region of Murcia with two vehicles and five professionals, the Civil Protection of Murcia with a vehicle, field hospital and 10 professionals, the Traffic Accident Rescue Group (GRAT) belonging to the Fire Department of Murcia, with 3 firefighters and extraction tools and the School of Dramatic Arts (ESAD).
This simulation has been composed of two different scenarios, in the first with an incident of multiple victims of 25 to 30 injured, triage (Models START and META), for the second scenario has brought a vehicle for scrapping, in which firemen of the GRAT have taught the students different maneuvers and techniques of extracting trapped patients.
"We do not know when, but we know how to act in the face of any incident, catastrophe or any type of eventuality that may arise, preparation, training and teamwork are fundamental for the students," says Manuel Pardo, professor in the Official Master of Medicine of Emergency.
