The Assembly of Change Murcia, which took place this Saturday in the cultural center of Guadeloupe and attended by almost a hundred people, unanimously approved a document called "Popular Unity to govern the municipality" in which it places all citizens and all the political forces of change to build "a unitary and pluralist, democratic and assembled municipalist movement".
As explained by the spokesman of the Coordinator of Change Murcia, Carlos Egio, to get a Murcia "solidarity, fair, sustainable, egalitarian and radically democratic is necessary to overcome the current situation and take a step beyond those who build hand in hand in neighborhoods and districts and share the same political space in the State. "
As can be read in the approved document, and "according to the consultations that the political formations have made to their registered and militants", people "would not understand that they were kept separate, sometimes competing, formations with almost identical political programs" .
"But to grow, to go further and this new political space is really open to independent people and from social movements and neighborhood struggles," says Egio, "should be characterized by an assembly philosophy and active and participatory democracy. Only then can we bring to institutions the social majority that is already expressed in the streets. "
"In that sense we believe that since Cambiemos Murcia we have shown that people from different political cultures can build a common project, providing stability and strength with that same diversity," he concluded.
