Murcia already have another broom, in this case platinum.
Councilman street cleaning and waste collection, José Ros, gathered yesterday in Madrid, in an act framed within the activities of the International Exhibition of Urban and Environmental Tem-Tecma 2010, this award with which recognizes cities cleaner, in addition to reward innovation and improvements in municipal cleaning systems.
This distinction, which in 2010 has reached its twelfth edition, given annually Ategrus (Technical Association for Waste Management, Urban Cleanliness and Environment) to evaluate and distinguish between those actions and work that has been done to improve or defense waste management, cleaning and general urban sanitation in our cities.
Murcia City already has the Golden Broom (2006), the Silver Broom (2004) and Special Mention (2008), which is a distinction that can be submitted to the Platinum Broom.
Thus, we evaluated the innovations introduced by the City and grass in recent years.
One is the Tecnoplasma project aimed to evaluate the Non-Thermal Plasma Technology for the treatment of advanced and innovative in the odor elimination treatment facilities and environmental enhancement
Tecnoplasma project represents the first development of this technology at national level in the industrial area of treatment facilities and environmental enhancement.
The City of Murcia, through CESPA, demonstrate the technical feasibility of non-thermal plasma coupled to an ultraviolet system to treat air flow resulting from combined treatment of sludge from the wastewater treatment plant.
Also taken into account the implementation in the municipality of underground containers and equipment for washing of containers in the Huerta de Murcia: a self cleaner mounted on a van that allows access to the garden rails.
This washer is equipped with a water spray system consisting of a bar with diffuser placed between the edge of the container and lid, and that the pressure of the water goes round and fan designed for cleaning inside the cube .
Another paragraph that have earned the City Council and grass to win the award include campaigns to raise awareness of Murcia on the importance of their role to be able to maintain a clean city and to achieve success in the recycling of waste such as of 'I believe, I believe in recycling' and 'I am Murcia'.
