The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, delivered this morning the awards "Ciudad de Murcia" Innovation in Information Technology and Communications, which organized the City of Murcia, through the Department of Quality and Modernization Administration.
This is the third call and she wanted to reward the work of associations and individuals with innovative and viable projects which provide a bridge between the City and citizens who want to collaborate in improving governance.
With this initiative, the City of Murcia aims to encourage and promote the use of ICTs among the different groups in the municipality and citizens in general.
In the category of partnerships, the winners will receive a computer consisting of-art computer, printer, scanner, webcam and flash drive.
The winners are:
- Center for Women's Boatmen on the project "Women and new technologies."
- Senior Community Center Cabezo de Torres, who has filed a cultural intervention project with older people in the hamlet.
- Cultural Association "Thought Forum XXI Century" of Espinardo, the project management activities of the association.
- Association of Residents of Barrio de los Rosales (El Palmar) for a project to support training activities and for administrative and management tasks of the association.
These associations submitted a report on the use and application of new technologies in the daily activities of their associations.
With respect to the category of "particular", the finalist award-winner after pleading desert, has fallen on the project presented by José Luis Torres Revert entitled "C2G MURCIA - C2G Platform Communication and Citizenship of the City of Murcia ".
Is to enhance the integration of web murcia.es in social networks, especially Facebook and twitter.
This project consists in creating an Internet platform combining, in a strategic way, several Web 2.0 tools.
This combination is technically based centralized updating of the various services, primarily through various RSS (Really Simple Syndication), accessories and functionalities of these services.
The core of the Internet platform will consist of a blog (or weblog), a group on Facebook social network, an account on the Twitter microblogging service and the current City Council Website Murcia ( www.murcia.es ).
