Murcia City Council received this evening two Hearts of Caritas, a recognition of institutions and people who work selflessly to help the most disadvantaged.
With this designation is to recognize the efforts made and encourage them to continue working on the same line.
The Councillor for Social Welfare Policy and Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin, collect the prize awarded to the city of Murcia as a public entity.
Councilmember Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, Beatriz Hontoria will receive the award for Palliri project, jointly developed by the City of Murcia and Caritas in the Alto de Bolivia.
This project consists of work primarily with women, families of migrant miners, peasants and indigenous people living in mining districts.
It began in 1991 and promotes the education of these disadvantaged groups.
Palliri has several schools, childcare centers, school workshop and vocational training centers.
