The Office of Volunteer Services Center "Murcia Sur" belonging to the Department of Health and Social Services City of Murcia, has been developing since 2000 a number of activities to raise awareness and promote solidarity and volunteerism.
Following the success of previous campaigns aimed at schools in the area, this year 2010 has been made for the first time, being a pilot, an awareness campaign to promote solidarity aimed at young people from 3 years of secondary education under the motto: "I can be SOLIDARITY."
The campaign has involved 354 students and 18 teachers in 3 of secondary three HEIs in the hamlets of TorreagĂźera, Beniaján and El Palmar, with plans to expand for years after all the IES of the territorial scope of the Center for Social Services "Murcia Sur ".
These students worked on a more intense campaign, with four sessions in each classroom, introducing theory, group dynamics and the realization of a final paper that will involve leaving their environment through field work and meet new realities in relation to solidarity, hitherto unknown to them.
These works have been valued by experts from the Department of Health and Human Services, awarding two prizes, because there was a tie score.
As the two winning groups IES 3 B and 3 Beniaján A Monte Miravete (TorreagĂźera).
The prize is a trip "down the river Segura in Raft from Cieza to White."
The event also was handed a diploma to each member of the winning teams and a trophy Schools.
There will also be issued a certificate of participation to all attendees.
