The Faculty of Arts at the University of Murcia offers from 3 to 5 June, the Congress "Translation and Cognition", part of the collaborative program between the Centre, the Nida Institute for Biblical Translation (New York) and the University of Urbino (Italy).
The Congress will explore over the three days the relationship between mind, language and communication, covering such diverse aspects as the role of culture in the translation or the impact of cognitive linguistics in translation studies.
Also discussed the implications of the neurological basis of cognition and meaning may have on the translation and the relationship between meaning and translation.
The opening session will begin tomorrow at 12:00 am in the Chamber of Arts and will be chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, José María Jiménez.
As a complement to Congress, the Nida Institute for Biblical translation has organized, from 6 to 12 June, a meeting on Translation and Meaning they will also host the Faculty of Arts.
