The measures taken by the city of Murcia in 2009 have saved more than 20 million euros

The measures taken by the government team, which allowed for a saving of more than 20 million are:

Wage freeze council members, officers and temporary staff.
2.
Creating a Spending Commission, which controls all expenditures in excess of 600 euros.
3.
Reduction contributions to parties.
4.
Christmas lighting reduction.
5.
Freezing the purchase of furniture and fixtures.
6.
Freezing the purchase of vehicles and current fleet adjustment.
7.
Reducing the electric bill, by lowering the intensity and adjusting the on and off.
8.
Reduction of overtime and shift the necessary days.
9.
Reducing costs and receiving protocol.
10.
Reduction of 50% of advertising expenditure.
11.
Deletion of 80% of regular mail to calls for actions, is now handled via the Internet.
12.
Downward revision of current contracts by 10%.
13.
Control of fuel for city vehicles.
14.
Control of air conditioning use in municipal buildings.
Regarding the measures that have been built this year should be noted:
1.
Reduction in salaries for council members, officers and temporary personnel, approved at the last plenary, but were already frozen for two years.
2.
Reduction, generally 30% of subsidies and suspension of others.
