The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, said this morning his deep sorrow and sadness at the death of Carlos Valcárcel Mavor, Chronicler and adopted son of the City of Murcia.
The Mayor highlighted the many professional and human qualities possessed Valcárcel and its close link with Murcia and heartfelt.
The Mayor has also sent his condolences to the bereaved family.
According to the mayor, the city has lost one of its most beloved sons, always ready to extol their land and its people, a man of gentle talk and boundless intellectual capacity which for years has been reflected in the press Murcia and numerous published works.
Chamber pointed out that Carlos Valcárcel Mavor has played throughout his life an intense work as a journalist and writer, has earned Academic recognition of the Royal of Alfonso X, Academic of Fine Arts, Director Festival of the Mediterranean and the Museum of Popular Costumes, President of the Confraternity of the Blood, the Press Association and the Association of Spanish Cape, among other responsibilities, rightly, has always aimed at improving Image of the City of Murcia through careful disclosure.
Miguel Ángel Cámara added that Carlos Valcárcel enjoyed a life devoted to literature, art and culture.
Dozens of awards adorn so vast a curriculum, which served as the climax of the title delivery Adopted Son of the City of Murcia.
