The University of the Sea organized the First International Congress on the songs miners (25/05/2010)

The Union will hold from 2 to 4 June, the First International Conference on Cantes Flamenco Miners, who for three days discussed in theory and practice the origin, formation and evolution of the songs miners and their links with the International Festival Cante de las Minas, held in the mining town every August.

In the three-day congress will be present the singer Miguel Poveda, who offer "enactments, memories and emotions with the songs Levant miners."

Later, you can enjoy flamenco recitals Gema Giménez, accompanied by Eduardo Rebollar touch, and Rocío Segura, with sponsorship Son, while on Friday 4 act Encarnación Fernández, Mining Lamp 1079 and 1980, with Antonio Muñoz.

Conferences such as "Six decades of mining cante" 1900-1960 "," The birth of the dance of Taranto, "The evolution of the guitar in touch miners" or "The songs of mine today.

Future prospects "also make the offer of this conference, complete with screenings of documentaries and short films and visits to the Parque Minero de La Union, the Mining Museum and the Old Public Market.

The registration period is open until May 27.
