Laura Gonzalo Delgado of Complutense University of Madrid, has won the Second Prize for Research and Development for Environment and Sustainability, organized by the Federation of Alumni and Friends of Spanish Universities and was awarded today for the ceremony held in the building of convalescence.
This award, which is equipped with six thousand euros, has done a study on "Preparation and characterization of boehmite from a hazardous waste from the aluminum industry."
The jury president and provost of the University of Girona, Anna Maria Geli of Ciurana, stressed that the latter call eighty papers were presented by students of twenty-five universities, of which 55 percent were male and the rest women.
During the ceremony, which was chaired by the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, the work presented the previous year's winner, by Juan Francisco García Martín, graduated from the University of Jaén and dedicated to the study of bioethanol production from waste of the olive tree pruning.
The ceremony was also attended, along with several members of the governing team, the president of that federation, José Antonio Redondo, and the president of the Association of Murcia, Tomás Zamora.
