The first meeting of the Municipal Committee of the Municipal Socialist Group, the highest body between congresses, has discussed the new model of the municipality that the Socialist Party wants to introduce in the forthcoming municipal elections in 2011.

The secretary general of the PSOE in Murcia, Pedro Lopez, said that "this proposal is a new concept of the city to break with the inequalities between the citizens of central and those living in the suburbs and hamlets."

The goal, says Lopez, involves "a new strategic planning of public transport, connecting citizens with the town in an effective way to bet on real decentralization of municipal services and create new opportunities for citizen participation."

Also in the Municipal Committee has addressed the strategy of the PSOE political communication at the municipal level, reaffirming the goal of its own identity.

The secretary general of the PSOE in Murcia, pointed to the Municipal Committee members that "during the first months of its activity, the Executive Council has laid the groundwork for a job of coordination between the Municipal Socialist Group in the City, the eleven clusters district and the Young Socialists in line with the regional party leadership. Lopez stressed that "the meeting of the Committee has reinforced the idea that the PSOE is an alternative government to the municipality of Murcia and has called for society as a whole do not hesitate to approach the Socialists face to know their needs and contributions for the new city project. "
