The University of Murcia put the flags at half mast for the death of Alfonso Escámez (17/05/2010)

The University of Murcia has placed the flags at half mast in its main buildings by the death of the doctor honoris causa Escámez Alfonso Lopez, who died yesterday in Madrid.

This university, whose Senate Escámez joined in 1988 upon receiving an honorary doctorate, sent a wreath to the funeral where his remains are veiled and tomorrow will be represented at the highest level at the funeral which will be officiated at the Church of San José de Aguilas.

Escámez was very close to the University of Murcia, not only for the doctorate was awarded, but also for courses and conferences of the International University of the Sea which he sponsored.

Also, a classroom of the Faculty of Economics and Business is named after Alfonso Escámez.
