Contributions to Medicine by Dr. Cartagena Luis Calandre Ibañez (1890-1961), who introduced the electrocardiogram in Spain, has been the subject of study for doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia by José Manuel Sebastián, with which it has obtained the excellent cum laude.
Grille, owned by Spanish histological school, was a student of Santiago Ramón y Cajal, Achúcarro and Pio del Rio and throughout his life held various medical positions.
Friend of Carmen Conde and the Popular University of Cartagena, was victimized by the Franco regime.
The reading of the thesis, which was directed by Professor of Medicine and former Dean Peter Marset, attended a granddaughter of Dr. Calandre, Cristina Calandre.
