A professor at the University of Murcia Juana María Hernández Conesa will tomorrow, 12 of the hands of the Infanta Doña Cristina de Borbón Nightingale Medal of the Red Cross, which was created in 1912 to honor nurses and volunteers of this institution that have distinguished themselves by their efforts and commitment to victims of conflict or exemplary service.
Professor Hernandez, a professor at the School of Nursing, will receive the award during a ceremony to be held in the palace of Santa Cruz in Toledo, which has been organized to mark the International Day of Nursing.
The medal is considered the highest honor the International Red Cross and the aid to the teacher at the University of Murcia is the third granted to a Spanish-century of existence with it.
Juana Maria Hernandez is a specialist in the History of Medicine and Nursing and has devoted significant research to figure exactly Florence Nightingale, a global leader volunteering gives its name to the distinction.
