Murcia University today announced the Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility, which is the fifth of the institution and will serve to promote all initiatives and activities aimed at improving social, economic, environmental firms.

In the presentation press conference, held in the building of convalescence, the director of the Chair, Professor Longinus Marin, outlined the functions of this organ, which has as objective the development and publication of theses and research , stays promote foreign university professors at the University of Murcia and collaboration in the implementation of doctoral programs, among others.

Longinus Marin, who is a professor in the Department of Marketing and Market Research, spoke of the Chair in advance from both studies on issues related to social responsibility, aimed at both businesses, consumers and workers, as the organization of courses, seminars and conferences on this area.

As the level of communication, the Chair is committed to creating a website for research studies, as well as maintaining relationships with stakeholders leading to the establishment of systems for corporate social responsibility in companies and institutions.

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine said the Chair will allow to deepen the socially responsible companies and encourage its implementation in the regional business community.

Sotoca added that we must banish the idea that corporate social responsibility is something only big companies and think that adds value and competitiveness of all enterprises.

The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, thanked the collaborating institutions and the support provided for the establishment of the Chair.

For the rector, initiatives like this demonstrate the effort of the University of Murcia to project to society and knowledge transfer.

The Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility under the patronage of credit institutions and Caja Murcia Caja Mediterráneo, the City of Molina de Segura, the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia and Strong Group companies, Aguas de Murcia or Hero, among others.
