The proposed new academic calendar of the University of Murcia for the next course will be discussed in the next few days by schools and departments of this institution so that it can collect the greatest possible consensus, as agreed in the Council of Government meeting Convalescence today.
The new schedule proposed by the government team, which affect only the undergraduate, is a restructuring of the current, recommended by the Bologna process and the need to make the University of Murcia an institution increasingly internationalized and more competitive.
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said during the session of the Governing Council that the idea of his team to raise the issue was to open a "broad discussion" on the issue and arrive at a text that represents the greatest consensus possible.
Cobacho added that students continue to have the three test calls, as usual, and the only thing that is suggested is to advance from September to July, which, for various reasons, a change was considered advisable.
Once the various representative bodies in deciding on the proposal brought to the Governing Council, this body will meet, likely later this month to decide.
In this session have been present members of the Council of University Students, who had requested a hearing on the project to express their views and considerations.
At the same meeting has proceeded to the election of representatives of heads of departments and colleges in the various committees of the governing body and the president congratulated the institutions they belong to the thirteen students who have achieved many awards national centers of excellence for their transcripts.
