The City of Murcia and Science Park Foundation, established by the Autonomous Community and the City Council in 2007, signed an agreement for the development of Science Park Special Plan.
This is a step closer to the start of the activity of this project, which will house companies, research groups and R + D + I.
The park will be located north of the highway A-7-together with the Espinardo Campus, "and aims to become a stimulus for research and development of Murcia, and increase technological advancement, the scientific impulse, business competitiveness and improving the quality of life of citizens.
Occupying 1.3 million square meters.
The Autonomous Community definitively approved the General Plan amendment to the definition of sectors in the Science Park in December 2008.
The next step is the development of the Special Plan, which will be developed within a year.
According to the agreement to be signed by the City Council and Foundation, the Consistory is committed to land management and urban streamlining of procedures and the approval of the Plan for the transformation of the land.
In addition, it will create a joint committee with two representatives of the City and two in the Science Park Foundation, to keep track of the paperwork.
