The Governing Board has awarded definitively the execution of works for conservation measures and temporary protection of the archaeological site of the garden of San Esteban, in the amount of 341,077 euros to the company Cyrespa Architectural SL.
The winning company will have to make as a first step, a study of graphic documentation, with drawings and photographs of archaeological remains.
The purpose of this work is the conservative cleaning of all surfaces and structures, and applying herbicides in the whole area to prevent the proliferation of the treatment plants after temporary storage.
Also be strengthened preventive structures with lime mortar, material that helps protect archaeological remains optimally, and carried out the conservation of limestone pavement with mortar recerca restoration to preserve the edges of the pavement.
Also be preserved with a layer of geotextile to separate the archaeological layers of gravel that protects the entire site and will be of different particle sizes and different levels depending on the area being treated.
Finally, we placed landmarks to mark the most important structures and major roads.
The project implementation period is three months.
