The Minister of Education opens the new school library IES El Carmen (20/04/2010)

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca today opened the new school library Secondary School El Carmen, which he regarded as "a learning space that will bring the knowledge and reading to all students at the school."

Sotoca, highlighted the work of the teaching staff of the IES El Carmen, which "must be responsible to awaken students' interest and curiosity to learn, read and take every one of the possibilities offered by the library."

The center has entered this year in the fifth phase of the regional School Libraries program which the Ministry has been endowed with 12,000 euros, to provide the best resources and library materials.

At present, there are more than 155 centers in the region assigned to the School Libraries program, developed jointly with the Ministry, and that the Ministry has allocated more than 4 million euros in the last five years.

The Minister stressed as a priority for his department to promote reading and school libraries as a prerequisite to improve the academic performance of students and staff of the Region.

In this regard, he cited some programs and similar activities that triggers the Ministry as literary tours, writers in class 0, the reader animation awards.

The counselor with director Promotion, Management and Educational Innovation, Carlos Romero, visited the exhibition at the IES El Carmen on the occasion of the First Week of Arts and Letters, and greeted a group of students from 3 and 4 of the ESO.

Students Found in the talks, which are part of the campaign developed by the Association of Biotech Firms Murciana of Information Technologies (Timur) to inform schools about the growing demand for technology profiles.
