The Civil Guard accused the owner of several horses for his abandonment (29/01/2010)

Civil Guard agents in Murcia, in the so-called "OPERATION ROCINANTE" developed in recent days, have been charged for an offense against the general interests contained in the penal code, the owner of three horses that were in obvious state of neglect on a farm near the town of Murcia.

The animals, which were found after several people reported their existence to the Civil Guard, did not have any food or water and a place to shelter from inclement weather.

Upon arrival SEPRONA agents, one of the animals, a pony a few days old, had died, while her mother was dying.

The third animal showed a clear state of thinness.

According to research carried out by the worthy, mares, one of them pregnant, have been abandoned by its owner several weeks on the farm where they were later found.

After that, the first bore without veterinary help the foal died.

Where measures have worked veterinary staff of the Directorate General of Livestock of the Autonomous Community and the Department of Health of the City of Murcia.

The facts will be brought to the attention of the Judicial Authority and the prosecution case the author of them may have violated the criminal code, which includes a fault against the general interest to abandon a pet in a position where it can be life-threatening or integrity
