PSOE: "There is no scheduled date for the resumption of the excavation or for the protection of the site of St. Stephen" " (25/01/2010)

Following the conclusion of the extraordinary full commission on the site of St. Stephen, the PSOE Councillor José Manuel Abellán continuing improvisations complaint and nothing is known about how the CARM and the City will make compatible the return to work of archaeologists protection and conservation of the findings

Councilman José Manuel Abellán socialist claims that the site of St. Stephen is checked but the days go by and nobody knows when they will start work in the excavation and how they will preserve the archaeological findings so that they do not continue to deteriorate.

Following the conclusion of the extraordinary full commission at the request of the Socialist Group on the site of San Esteban, Abellán regrets that despite the time everything remains the same.

"A cluster of improvisations by the CARM and the City that have not yet decided how to support the return to work of archaeologists with the conservation of the findings."

Forty-five days late

Similarly, the PSOE mayor calls it unacceptable that the Consistory had to go to the Autonomous Community on two occasions (the last on 19 January) that it will report on Friday January 22 that the works of parking are incompatible with the reservoir.

"Forty-five days it took to communicate to the House Valcárcel can not build a park in San Esteban," complains Abellán, who warns that "or streamline procedures and take this seriously or irreparably damage the site will continue"

The site is returned to the CARM

Therefore, the Socialist councilor calls for speeding up the return of the solar maximum to CARM to lighten all the procedures of excavation and conservation.

"The regional government is acting very passive in this process, especially when communicating to the City Council in writing the waiving of parking, and with this attitude is impossible to Town Hall to start the process to return the site to the community because they contract administration and the other monitor and authorize all it does is delay the protection of the site, "concludes Abellán.
