The University of Murcia and the Ministry of Health have signed today at the headquarters of the Chancellor, the new agreement governing the use of the centers under the Health Service of Murcia by students in the public educational institution for the experiments .
Under this agreement, may do internships in public hospitals in the Region students of all degrees related to the health professions, Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, Speech, among others-and not only medicine and nursing, as with the previous agreement of 2004 is now updated.
Within the agreement are already available to the University, the University Hospitals "Virgen de la Arrixaca", "Reina Sofia", "Morales Meseguer", "Santa María del Rosell (Cartagena)," Rafael Méndez "(Lorca), schools Health Management which manages the Primary one and two, the present arrangements for Mental Health, Regional Center of Blood Donation and other public hospitals appear to be related.
The new agreement also includes the concept of graduate education (master's and doctoral officers) and the figure created by the University of Murcia, honorary associate professor, health professionals who work voluntarily in teaching, mentoring practices performed by University students.
Currently, there are more than a thousand of these employees.
The Vice Chancellor for Institutional Relations and Health Sciences, Manuel Vidal, explained that the increase in hours of practice in health degree to which the Bologna forces required to adapt the existing regulatory framework.
The vice president also cited as reasons for the renewal of the agreement of 2004 the need to adapt to the rules that currently govern the university management and the professions, the increase of students has been in the medical degrees since then, modification of the teaching staff and updating linked associate professors in the Health Sciences.
The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, who was accompanied by his staff, said the agreement is renewed because "both institutions are alive and there have been changes in recent years demanding a new one."
María Ángeles Palacios said that under the new agreement strengthens the partnership between the Health Service of Murcia and University of Murcia.
For its part, another signatory, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said he is not a convention either, insofar as it affects students in many degree, he totaled over 2,000.
