Once Fesormu out in Mexico and their experiences to tailor information to young people with disabilities (18/01/2010)

The presidents of the eleven organizations (National Organization of Spanish Blind) and Fesormu (Federation of the Deaf in the Region of Murcia) and Francisco Pérez Moya Germain, respectively, have been exhibited in Mexico, the experience of their organizations in relation to information accessible for people with sensory disabilities.

These organizations are involved with the Department of Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia in the project evaluation workshop and Active Citizenship Information: Working Together, financed by the European Union.

The Mexico meeting is the third and last in a series of working meetings have taken place in Murcia (February 2009) and Ecuador (June 2009).

In this seminar, which has aroused great interest in the city of Mexico, involved 40 people from organizations of deaf and blind from Murcia (Spain), Brussels (Belgium), Torino and Vicenza (Italy), Paris (France), City Mexico (Mexico), San Isidro (Argentina), Cali (Colombia) and Cuenca (Ecuador).

In addition, members of the Youth Services of the participating municipalities and CIDJ Youth Information Network, France and Red Chameleon, Colombia.

The Once and Fesormu presentations have been a great contribution to the participating organizations.

He has also participated in seminars Councilwoman Youth and Employment, María Dolores Sánchez.

The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate interventions that all participating agencies have made to adapt their services to youth information for young people with sensory disabilities.

The conclusions developed from this workshop would not only apply in the city of Murcia but still in all participating countries.

The City of Murcia has developed measures to improve the accessibility of websites (the website of Informajoven already translated into sign language and partially sighted people), provide specific information content for these groups, adapting facilities and propose actions to young people are directly involved in the information centers (creation of information points, specific training for youth and young technicians, etc.), among many other things.
