The OMIC received 6,610 inquiries and complaints than last year (16/01/2010)

The Department of Commerce, through the Municipal Office of Consumer Affairs (OMIC) last year received 27,572 inquiries and complaints, of which 23,511 were 4,061 inquiries and complaints.

The figures are significant because in 2008 the total was 20,962 (17,218 inquiries and 3,744 complaints).

Thus, the annual increase has been 6,610.

The data is divided into three areas: Food, Goods and Goods and Services, which in turn are composed of different sections are more specific.

Where most complaints are recorded in Services (14,121), and in particular in mobile telephony, with 2,500 complaints.

Second place goes to the electricity sector, 2,134, and third fixed telephony, with 1,178.

In the area of Products and Goods (8590) the three groups most complaints are Free Housing (2,139), and similar appliances (938) and Textile (810).

Other points on which the claims are also very repeated are: Sales of new, used and spare parts (450), Computers and Audiovisual (317), rental homes (2,005), Vehicle Repair (479), Dry (230) , Internet (430), Butane (495), personal and mortgage loans (663), pension plans (564), Air Transport (273), Restaurants, bars, cafes and the like (509), etc.
