Valcárcel encouraged to "fully employed" to combat all forms of social exclusion of disabled persons (19/11/2009)

The president of the Community reaffirms "the obligation and commitment" of the regional government to continue devising measures for full employment and social integration of this group

He thanked the award that the organization has been granted for the support and executive management Murcia for disabled people

The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, today urged all social groups and government to "fully employed" at work and in combating all forms of exclusion and discrimination against people with disabilities.

Valcárcel opened the V Congress of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI), which meets in Murcia those responsible for this organization in all regions to discuss different aspects related with this group.

In celebration of this important forum on disability, the president reiterated "the obligation and commitment" of the Government of the Region of Murcia to continue umpiring aid and measures to eradicate the barriers that separate and divide people with disabilities and impeding their full integration in social, cultural or educational.

The Autonomous Community, through the Instituto Murciano Social Action and other departments, has maintained a coordinated action with Cermi Murcia, because, as reiterated Valcárcel, "we have always considered it necessary to work near the most knowledgeable about disability, know their needs and wants, as well as the services they need, because it is they who live day to day with the people affected. "

In this V Congress, the various regional committees involved will conduct a review of some of the key issues in the world of disability, from the initiatives undertaken in the different regions to the accessibility of employment, aggravated by a very critical the general situation of crisis that we face.

The regional chief executive expressed his hope that this meeting will serve in a special way to debate and discuss the measures to be put in place to ensure that individuals with disabilities suffer injustices, little solidarity and discriminatory.

For its part, the president thanked the award Valcárcel that this organization has been granted for the support and management of regional government for disabled people and groups that represent them.

The award will be presented on December 2 in a ceremony at Madrid's Caixa Forum building.
