Our Lord Jesus has a new ossuary, an incineration furnace remains and more niches and septic double (30/10/2009)

Citizens who visit the municipal cemetery Nuestro Padre Jesus on the Day of All Saints verify the improvement works made by the City of Murcia.

In particular, this year we have completed the refurbishment of the Plaza de Nuestro Padre Jesus which has built an ossuary, has built a new phase of niche and a double mass, we have undertaken paving and other performances maintenance of trees and landscaping, as well as the installation of an incineration furnace remains.

The investment by the City Council is of 895,000 euros.

The Cemetery of Our Father Jesus of Espinardo is of the 32 cemeteries of the town the only municipally owned.

It was built in the late nineteenth century and is structured in a service area (concierge, dressing rooms, funeral homes, toilets, etc.) To the entrance where there is also a chapel for religious services.

In the 80's was built on the old civilian cemetery attached a Muslim cemetery.

In the municipal cemetery burials is 161,441, with an average in recent years about 1,200 burials per year, in particular, in 2008 1,246 people were buried, of which 1,137 have been recent death (the rest are transfers).

Highlights include the increase of deaths over 70 years and during that period were buried 7 people with more than 100 years.

The cemetery has 818 plots, 19,300 graves of all kinds, 4,900 niches high, 200 and 360 columbarium columbarium for ashes to rest.
