The Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, opens tomorrow (at 09:30 pm in the auditorium of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Lieutenant Flomesta Avenue, s / n. Murcia) a conference on 'The Murcia region for the future of territorial cooperation ', an event framed in the European Week of Regions and Cities "Open Days 2009.

The seminar, organized by the ministries of the Presidency and Public Administration and Finance, is one of the local events scheduled in the seventh edition of Open Days (European week of regions and cities) sponsored by the European Commission.

It will address the work carried out between the ministries and municipalities for collaboration and exchange of experiences in the preparation and participation in European territorial cooperation and the Mediterranean border cooperation policies.

The first session, scheduled for 10:00 am, will discuss "The Future of European territorial cooperation ', and will involve the Director General of Economy and Planning of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Esther Ortiz, director general of Community Funds of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Mercedes Caballero, and regional managing director of the European Commission, Eusebio Murillo.

The second session, beginning at 12:00 pm, will focus on "Cooperation in the Mediterranean: opportunities and tools."

Speakers will include Director General of Local Government, Institutional and External Relations of the Ministry of the Presidency and Public Administration, Juan Antonio Morales, general manager of Integration and Coordination of General and Economic Affairs of the EU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alfonso Díez , responsible for management of the European ENPI / CBC Mediterranean Basin in Sardinia, Vanessa Maccioni, and ENPI program manager of the Directorate General for External Relations of Valencia, Isabel Sanchez.

The final session scheduled for 13:30 pm, will focus on 'The Territorial Cooperation Group, "while the closing borne by the general secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Luis Alfonso Martínez Atienza (14:00 pm) .

During the month of October will be a total of 233 local events in all regions of the member states of the European Union under the theme "Europe in our Region or City ', with an expected audience of 300,000 people.
