On the other hand, the 30th of September, an earthquake of scale 7.6 (Richter) took place 57 kilometers from the town of Padang (Sumatra).

Following this, there was another tremor of 6.8 to 155 km northwest of Bengkulu.

As a result, and according to provisional data, there are:

700 people died.

More than 1,000 people missing.

179,629 buildings were damaged.
