The festival 'AlterArte 2009' brings the sound and visual art to the streets and squares of Murcia (21/10/2009)

The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, today visited the 22 urban art interventions taking place in different areas of the city center of Murcia to the 25th October.

These projects are included in the programming of the Festival of Emerging Artists 'AlterArte 2009', in which a total of 150 developers conducted 62 activities.

Also attending the festival directors visit, Hernán Rodríguez and Sergio Porlán.

For one week, the streets, plazas and other spaces from the center of Murcia become the scene of avant-garde performances in the performing arts, visual, sound art and urban interventions.

In all proposals, 16 were selected through the invitation of the Institute of Youth.

Veronica Lopez said, "This festival shows the commitment of youth culture, which have made the streets and squares are new areas where everything is possible."

Among the projects of urban intervention is the 'Lung Sound' or 'Diguidongui', Jorge Rodriguez, an interactive musical sculpture designed and created to be handled by the public at any time.

The aim is that the viewer move, touch or draw on this instrument.

'Frames', and Fran Guijarro Inma Martinez, who placed under a table in different areas of the city to propose a reflection on the little things we overlook.

Helia San Nicolas, Vanesa Rodríguez Olivia Molina and Moreno, simulated in 'Throw the shadow' an artificial trees and deck chairs claiming greenery in urban areas.

The company presents Sunflowers 'Insert Coin', an installation in which, in a perspex box, several dancers perform musical pieces selected by the public which has introduced a coin inside the box.

One of the facade of the Plaza Fontes is filled with televisions, keyboards and cables 'routes vague' by Peter Navarro, a work structures excessive surplus and the knowledge society.

With 'Perplexit' Bernardi Roig Mallorcan artist invites us to consider extreme situations such as solitary confinement or interior.

In the Plaza del Romea, Ignacio López shown in the video installation 'Healing Macarena' two projections located inside dark boxes which visual access is done through peepholes.

Art Forum Headquarters (FA) is home to two sites: 'tropism', Charles Schwartz, who reuses everyday objects that are reconfigured by neon tubes, producing assemblies resulting in surreal situations where the light breaks the daily stability objects.

Inside, 'Jackpot', by Daniel Canogar seeks to give volume to the image and turn it into sculpture.
