The City Council produces a map with emissions from phone masts (14/10/2009)

The City Council has moved a step closer to developing a radio map containing the measurements of the phone antennas in the municipality.

The objective is to obtain more data for more control and more information on emissions from phone masts in order to ensure the safety of the population and improve the information provided to citizens.

The radio map shows the levels of electromagnetic fields as closely as possible in all municipalities.

The map is a map of the city with different colors depending on the margins of field levels.

For mapping first perform a theoretical simulation software after entering data such as location, transmission power, orientation, height of buildings, terrain, etc.

performed a theoretical calculation of the level that exists in all municipalities.

Subsequently, a vehicle will travel the city with a GPS so that each measure is associated with the position being performed.

These data are entered in the theoretical simulation software.

The radio map will provide a theoretical result adjusted for actual measurements.

The Governing Board has awarded the project today the company SLNE Engineering Issues.

The Consistory will invest 21,000 euros.

This new instrument, together with the monitoring service 24 hours in levels of electromagnetic fields in the town attractions and a regular campaign of measurements of levels of electromagnetic fields, will be launched as an addition to the municipal ordinance regulating the installation and operation of radio infrastructure, finally approved in late July.
