Two bronze medals at the San Vicente International Judo (05/10/2009)

Like every season the Municipal Hall of San Vicente in Alicante City hosted the International Tournament in San Vicente, which this year celebrated its thirteenth edition.

Each year, participation increased in number and quality of its participants, as has become the benchmark Tournament earlier this season.

This year, participation has had judoka of Germany, Portugal, England and different parts of the country.

Until then moved four of our best judokas and their results could be described as good:

FERNANDO SANCHEZ (-66 kg) opened the tournament with an Andalusian, which passed without any problems of immobilization.

In second round saw the faces before the weight favorite, the German representative.

Fernando tried to prevent the tactic of the Teuton, but could not defeat the object and fell.

This defeat sent him to the playoffs where they beat their first opponent with a very well thought out tactical battle, but fell into gold technique in the fight that gave him access to dispute the bronze.

JOSE LUIS CABERO (-73 kg.): Fit was a tournament low to high.

Started a bit hesitant before the first opponent who took advantage of a weak attack to fit, to achieve sufficient advantage to victory.

Despite the defeat, the feeling was good and fit the play-offs faced with optimism.

Pass the first round without problems.

The second rival could do nothing to the good judo to fit and was left alone and play a match to get the medal.

The opponent was a lot of organization, but the approach to combat Cabero was outstanding, and thanks to this, he could get on the podium.

FRANCISCO GONZALEZ (-81 kg.) Fran returned to racing after last season to forget, plagued by injuries.

This tournament will serve as a test to check your progress.

The rival to the release could not be worse for John Bonitch is a nationally renowned judoka and internationally.

The pace of battle of Granada, was too much for Fran at this stage of the season, which was content to stand against the continuous attacks of his opponent.

Immobilization revoking a contest dominated by Bonitch.

Fran reached the playoffs with the same initial goal, shooting and checking their form.

The first opponent fell to a superb Ippon Uchi Mata.

The second he would receive the same punishment on the part of "the Albatalía."

The third match was completely dominated it, but half the battle, in a forced gesture felt a sharp pain in his ribs.

Fran overcame the battle between obvious signs of pain.

Given that outlook and the possibility of aggravating the injury, I decided not to fight the fight for the medal.

DAVID KECHABIAN (+90): This weight had two big favorites, and the goal of David was placed as third on the podium, but without giving a surprise.

The first match was crucial, for it gave the options to reach the semifinals of the weight.

This importance is also understood David, who made no mistake and won with little trouble.

The second match of their group was against one of the favorites.

David could do little with the size and strength of his opponent.

David had to play the semifinal against top seed.

The Valencian David Perez.

Our David, knowing their chances gave everything for victory, but Valencia has many tables and eventually rose to victory, leaving the "Murcia" in bronze.
