A city that progresses and advances can not do it without offering a comprehensive network of road communications to improve their accessibility and at the same time, to reduce the number of vehicles passing through the town.

The 2007-09 biennium was the key step to achieve this goal.

In the past two years, the arterial network of Murcia has grown by as much as 33.2 kilometers, or are already in service, or in advanced stages of implementation.

Roads are "prepared to Murcia for the future," said the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara.

Progress that has required a budget of 67.8 million euros, which allows investment also face the difficulties of the crisis thanks to the boost to economic activity and creating jobs.

The construction of these new channels was essential to ensure the continuity of the modernization process of the municipality experienced in recent years, and culminating with a complete road map of municipally owned communications.

One of them, namely the Kingdom of Murcia Avenue, contained under the General Urban Plan of 1978, will be completed this year.

Murcia is a city thus become more accessible and help develop the new urban mobility model based on these high-capacity roads, with rail construction have already begun, the redevelopment of public transport, also in progress, and promoting alternative means of transport, especially cycling, whose master plan is developed in its first phase.
